Tonight, I realized that I had promised the kids that they could take their lunches to school tomorrow. A quick look in the pantry revealed that unless the kids wanted to take rice or instant gravy mix, a trip to the store would be necessary.
I drug my feet, flailed my arms, and complained loudly to the dog about having to go grocery shopping when all I really wanted was my soft pillow and a cozy effortless novel that I'd almost memorized the words to.
Have I ever mentioned that I'm married to Prince Charming?
He swooped me up in his arms, carried me out to his gleaming silver charger of a mini-van, and turned a late night run to the grocery store into a laugh-fest.
And as we waited in line to check-out, he even slyly turned over the only remaining copy of Martha Stewart Living so that the impossible to recreate crafty elegance wouldn't tempt me into a guaranteed disappointment. I returned the favor by pretending that there were no white chocolate candy bars in any of the checkout lanes.
I had to laugh at how much fun I had on our atypical mini-date. 12 years of marriage down, with an eternity that I'm looking forward to.

I just stumbled across your blog a few days ago & must say it has become one of my top favorites already.
I LOVED this post because I too am married to prince charming who knows how to turn an incredibly boring, tedious trip to the store into a fun, albeit atypical, date!
While there wasn't much detail about your trip I felt like I knew exactly how you felt & how much fun you had.
It's so nice to that hear someone else enjoys their husband as much as I do mine!
We've been at it for almost 18 years now, so that eternity thing is definitely doable :) lol
Thanks for taking the time to blog, you really have a great read here!
I love this blog post.
I almost can guess how much fun you had. When I'm grown up I want to have this kind of husband myself.
Great writing.
Sounds perfect! Hubby does that from time to time when he knows I am miserable about a chore. It is great.
I can't WAIT to be back w/ my hubby. We've been seperated for 4 months because of his job.
I'm sure there'll be an adjustment period, but looking forward to a date night none the less.
What a good man you have there. :o)
Aww, how adorable!! My man's a darling in that he'll make the grocery runs for me sometimes (well, the small ones) and now he's actually starting to enjoy us going together for our large trips, because he loves making the grocery shopping a game as we've started couponing (AND he sees how much we save). Score for freebies or almost freebies)!
PS - You have the 3rd Sunday Sharing Time in April (cuz I'll be out of time the week before, 'member?).

Hooray for our nights in shining armor. What would we do without them?
Being married to your best friend is one of the greatest privileges, don't ya think? I appreciate your love for your hubby and your positive affirmation of him...we need more bloggers like you!
Hey I just nominated you for a blog award! Check out my blog to get it: www.mamapierce.blogspot.com
If I didn't have a Prince Charming then we would never have food in our home because I hate shopping and he loves it!
