There was a portion of my life not so long ago when I was closer to losing my mind than ever before.
I had a 5 year-old son, a 3 year-old daughter and then the two characters in the picture, aged 2 and 1.
Having four kids who were still toddlers was tough on me. I'm afraid I didn't have much patience during that time.
I distinctly remember this picture. Some dear friends of ours had invited us to the lake. They cooked for us. We used their RV. We swam a little. We flew kites. We had a blast.
But as is likely with a bunch of toddlers, there were squabbles. I remember how irritated I was when Bal started crying because Nod got to play with the pinwheel first.
I took this picture to someday show Bal how ridiculous he looked while he was crying. I was hoping he'd look at it in shame and apologize for throwing a temper tantrum.
Instead he just looked at the picture and said to his brother, "Nod why were you so mean to me that day?"
We'll give it a few more years.

That's so funny! Thanks for sharing this precious photo & post!
LOL! Typical sibling!
That's funny and very typical!
I almost didn't survive my oldest two when they were 4 and 2. Very hard. I'm so glad I only have one toddler now!
Really made me laugh. I just have one 16 1/2 month old and sometimes I get sad watching her play alone, but not after reading this and seeing that photo! J.K.
I totally get this world, though I only have 3... a 4, 2, and 1 year old. And we have many, many moments like that. Great pic!!
How fun is it to show your kids how the looked crazy funny when they acted a certain way. I love it!
Bahaha! That is funny. You think that your ammunition will teach them a lesson, but no. I love kids. Especially yours. They are the sweetest!
First of all, God bless you.... 4 toddlers. I mean, I could barely handle two. Seriously.
And secondly, I love that you took this photo to show him how ridiculous he looked. I have several photos of both my kids that WILL come back to haunt them. ;-)
I am RIGHT THERE NOW!! Toddlers to spare (can I steal that line?). My mind is totally shot with a 5 yr, 3 yr, almost 2 yr, and 7 month old in age kiddos.
Your post made me laugh, and laugh again. It was just what I needed after a day of very short tempers.
Here is to knowing that I might just survive!!
Bless your busy heart! I understand. I had two little ones close to the same age but FOUR?!! You had a right to be a bit grouchy!
Jen
How well I remember the toddler years. Talk about the inmates running the asylum!! And I love your son's reaction to the picture :-)
LOL, that's so funny!
I keep hoping that it'll end...the fighting. I want them to be best friends when they grow up.
Wishing thinking?
