Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer made me clean out my van. But I figured if I put the contents that I found to such a wonderful song as "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, then it wouldn't reflect so poorly on me.
The Things In My Van
Petrified french fries, and wrappers from cupcakes
Pieces of tree trunks, and lids from an old shake
Capri Suns, umbrellas, and pieces of foam.
All of these things in my van, found a home.
2 dirty socks, and 1 hooded sweatshirt
1o cans of tomato paste, and 1 ton of soccer dirt.
A tire inflator and my daughter's lost shoe
These are more things that my van carried too.
1 sucker stick from Drug Free Week in October
1 toy strawberry, and one nice clean stroller
20 cans of peas and 2 of cream soup
All in my van, did these things somehow group.
When it smells bad, When the carpet crunches
When you'd rather walk,
Remember the gross stuff all came from your clan
and then lock them out...of your van.

I was surprised at how clean mine was. And you're right...purses would be humiliating. But, maybe that's the jumpstart we need to get it cleaned out.
This was VERY clever! So creative and fun to read.
Though, I think I may have that tune in my head for awhile. Erk!

OK, you asked. And, coincidentally, I cleaned my car today because my lease is up... and I don't think my dealer will want:
4 empty water bottles
2 (more like 1 1/2) coffee lids
12 straws
2 t-shirts from last Christmas that I never returned
1 high heeled clog (yes, 1)
2 fleece vests that never made it to Savers
1 box of golf balls
1 box of Christmas ornaments
1 key (for ??)
3 empty Dunkin Donut bags
2 whiffle balls
1 broken umbrella
several photographs
2 Bad Guys (my grandson's term for action figures)
4 binkies
2 diapers (un-used!)
1 pair baby sneakers
1 large empty box
2 large green trash bags (I guess I was going to clean at one time!)
Not as melodic as your list... !
